Prices for Plastic Surgery
When researching plastic surgery one of the determining factors in choosing a surgeon is the price. The overall price quoted will include the surgeon’s fee, the anaesthetist’s fee and the hospital fee. Many of the large cosmetic firms will not break the fee down for you but individual surgeons should. The surgeon’s fee includes the surgery and many also include the post operative care. It is important to establish this prior to surgery. Re-operations or referrals to other
specialists including investigation are usually not included. Your surgeon should discuss all this with you prior to your surgery.
The
anaesthetic fee includes you anaesthesia during the surgery and one post operative visit. Your pain control is one of their responsibilities and more than one visit might therefore be necessary.
The
hospital fee varies depending on venue and their agreement with you wil require your signature. Ask for a copy of the agreement before the day to read at your leisure.
There is no average cost of plastic surgery as a lot will depend on your surgeon, his experience and the hospital chosen. These are as important as price in your decision making.
There is no such thing as free plastic surgery in the private sector. The financing of plastic surgery is either a full payment before surgery of all costs or with some surgeons they offer financing packages or delayed payment. Clearly with financing there will be interest on top of normal costs.
One must weigh up the costs against the experience of the surgeon, testimonials and an opportunity to see examples of your surgeons work.
